Dot Davies

Dot grew up and was educated in the Sutherland area and started her working life as a costing clerk.  Together with her late husband Clifford Davies, she became an inaugural presenter at 90.1 NBC in 1986 where they worked together as a team until Cliff passed away.

A mother in every sense of the word, Dot is very much involved with her family and grandchildren but still finds time for lawn bowls, voluntary work at Sylvanvale Handicapped Centre, knitting, crocheting and of course, music.

Dot considers one of her most satisfying achievements to be in receiving the Premiers Award for radio work in 2003 along with her work in the community in various capacities. “So many people still talk about it at Station functions”, she muses.

She enjoys being part of 90.1 NBC because of her lifetime interest in music and because of the many friends she has made due to her love of music. “It always keeps my mind active and occupies part of my life’s interests”, she says.

Dot’s most sincere wish is for 90.1 NBC to maintain it’s close bond with the public with the variety of great music and topics it presents, for the benefit of everyone.
